This month, Lori comments on the multiple Emerging Media Seminars taking place in TMP offices.
TMP's Emerging Media Seminars – events with a variety of media partners in settings that invite discussion and dialogue – are taking place with TMP offices all across the country! Kicking off in July, these seminars offer a true assessment of Web 2.0 tools and how they've forever altered the landscape of recruitment advertising.
In July, TMP Miami started their seminar series with TMP's own Elizabeth Saury, Digital Consultant, who defined social networking and best practices for using social networking as a recruiting tool. Guest speaker Mike Haines of Facebook then provided an overview of Facebook: what it is, who's using it, and how recruiters can employ it. The HR professionals who participated found the discussions were so beneficial that some immediately created their own Facebook profiles!
Boston's August 7th seminar delivered a comprehensive overview of Google, Indeed, Simply Hired and LinkedIn. Presenters from each website defined their unique value for candidates and recruiters alike, stimulating a robust discussion on metrics and tracking, pay-for-performance advertising and the long-term value of networking tools.
Gillian Koenig, Recruitment Marketing Coordinator of Akamai, comments on the seminar she attended:
"In a few hours, I was able to gain greater insight into media that we as a company were already using as well as media that we had been investigating to add as part of our recruiting strategy. It was extremely helpful to hear what others in the industry were trying, and it enabled me to provide my team with additional information and resources to find top candidates."
Emerging Media Seminars are taking place now at various locations across the country. Find out more about how to attend our upcoming seminar on September 25th in Miami, FL where representatives from Google will share their technology tool for recruiting.
